DebiCheck is an authorisation process implemented by all South African banks to assist with reducing fraudulent debit order activity. The process requires you to verify all of your debit orders and as a result, gives you control and peace of mind.
By approving the DebiCheck mandate, I authorise Metropolitan to arrange for deductions against my bank account for:
- monthly premiums due.
- arrear premiums or premium increases due as specified in my policy.
I consent to Metropolitan sending personal information to my bank for the purpose of deducting premiums and any repayments from my account. If I transfer my account to another bank, Metropolitan may continue to deduct the premiums and any repayments due from the other bank.
All payment instructions issued by Metropolitan must be treated by my bank as if the instructions have been issued by me personally. This authorisation will continue unless terminated by me in writing to Metropolitan (info@metgetup.co.za) on 20 days’ notice. If I cancel this authorisation, such cancellation will not affect the validity of my policy with Metropolitan. I am not entitled to any refund of payments made to Metropolitan while this authorisation is in force, provided such payments were due to Metropolitan in terms of the policy to which this authorisation applies.
If there are insufficient funds in my account for Metropolitan to deduct the premium, Metropolitan is entitled to track my account and present the instruction for payment to my bank when there is sufficient money in my account.
